Authorities remove 2-month-old from Daviess County home following drug investigation

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of four suspects in a drug investigation in Owensboro on Friday.

Authorities reported that additional charges were filed after a two-month-old baby was found inside the home where the suspects were keeping their drugs.

According to a release, the sheriff’s office special investigations unit executed a search warrant at a home in the 2500 block of West Fifth Street as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug activity.

During a search of the home, detectives say they found marijuana in multiple locations throughout the home, alongside methamphetamine, digital scales, smoking pipes, marijuana grinders, syringes, and other paraphernalia commonly associated with the possession and trafficking of illegal narcotics.

Authorities say a two-month-old baby was located inside the home, and detectives contacted the Department of Community-Based Services to remove the child from the home.

Four suspects were charged with the following after the search warrant was executed:

Lisa Cook, 47

• Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
• Trafficking marijuana
• Drug paraphernalia
• Endangering the welfare of a minor

Whitney Casey, 38

• Trafficking marijuana
• Drug paraphernalia
• Endangering the welfare of a minor

David Hancock, 44

• Trafficking marijuana
• Drug paraphernalia
• Endangering the welfare of a minor

Martin Cook, 47

• Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
• Trafficking in marijuana
• Drug paraphernalia
• Failure to appear warrant – Daviess County Circuit Court
• Failure to appear warrant – Daviess County District Court
