Philadelphia Police remember Sgt. Robert Wilson III on the 10th anniversary of his passing

PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — The Philadelphia Police Department continues to remember one of their own, Sgt. Robert Wilson III, who was killed in the line of duty 10 years ago.

Officers of the 22nd Police District celebrated his life and legacy Tuesday morning. They gathered at the Sgt. Robert Wilson III Community Mural on 2900 Ridge Avenue in Strawberry Mansion.

Wilson was killed by two men who held up a GameStop store in North Philadelphia. He was in the store doing a safety check when he decided to buy something for his son.

The two suspects in Wilson’s death pleaded guilty to murder and were sentenced to life in prison.
