Natchitoches schools face closures amid water main break

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The city of Natchitoches released a statement urging all residents to conserve water to prevent critical depletion of water levels following a water main break at the Water Treatment Plant.

The Natchitoches Parish School Board also released an advisory that schools could potentially be without water Thursday, March 13. The NPSB is actively monitoring the situation and will provide a final update at 5:45 a.m. tomorrow morning regarding area schools.

According to the post, city schools affected include:

  • NPTCC
  • NJH-FRJ
  • NSU E-Lab
  • L.P. Vaughn
  • M.R. Weaver
  • NSU Middle Lab
  • East Natchitoches
  • Natchitoches Central
  • Natchitoches Magnet

The city says repairs are underway, and more information will be provided when available.
