Friday SEVERE storms?  Doubtful in the ArkLaTex
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) –  A very intense storm system will develop over the middle of the country by Friday.  We will probably see an outbreak of severe weather in the middle Mississippi valley.  Fortunately, it still appears that the ArkLaTex will be spared.

SPC Outlook:  The latest outlook from the Storm Prediction Center for Friday and Friday night has shifted east compared to yesterday.  They still have a small chance of strong to severe storms over the eastern edge of our area, however models indicate that severe weather is doubtful as most of the ArkLaTex could stay dry.

SPC Friday Severe Weather Outlook

What we can expect Friday: Most models, including Futurecast, show that we will likely begin Friday with a mostly cloudy sky.  There is a chance that some showers and maybe a t’storm will develop over the eastern edge of the area, but that chance is looking slim at this time.  Friday will be a very windy day with sustained southwesterly winds of 15 to 25 mph.  We will likely see gusts over 30 mph. There is a small chance that we could see a little bit of rain on Saturday.
