According to the Louisiana State Police, troopers with Troop L began investigating the crash, which happened on LA 21 near Easterling Landing Road, around 5:50 a.m.
The initial investigation shows that a 2014 GMC Yukon, which was being driven by 34-year-old Joshua J. Curry, was headed north on LA 21 when, for reasons that are still being investigated, the Yukon veered off of the road in a left-hand curve, flipped and crashed into a home.
Curry was unrestrained and was ejected from the SUV, sustaining severe injuries. He was pronounced dead on scene. As part of the investigation, standard toxicology samples were taken from Curry.
