Motorcyclist critical after crash on Indy’s east side

INDIANAPOLIS — A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash that occurred on the east side of Indianapolis Tuesday night.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called around 8:02 p.m. to the 9800 block of E. Washington Street in response to a personal injury accident in the area.

IMPD said the crash involved a motorcyclist who was last reported to be in very critical condition after suffering a “severed” leg. The incident involved one other vehicle, IMPD said. it remains unclear how many occupants were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash or if any other individuals were injured.

Detectives on scene told FOX59/CBS4 they believe alcohol played a role in the incident after the motorcyclist was allegedly found with beer cans with residue left in them.
