PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A semi truck with no trailer became caught in the sand at Sunset Beach, north of Gearhart, at about 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
A group of 4×4 enthusiasts known as the Clatsop County Sons of Beaches helped tow the truck from the beach. Sons of Beaches member Ben Doney told KOIN 6 News that the group will occasionally have to rescue semi truck drivers that venture out onto the beach. However, Tuesday’s driver picked an especially bad time.
“We see trucks like this out there every so often, but he came out at high tide which was a terrible time,” Doney said.
