“This is my fourth location,” said owner Linda Dickerson. “I actually sold and moved to Tennessee and that did not work out. I’ve been back for a few years now and I was just looking to start up another shop and I thought this was a great spot.”
The new location is in the former Subway restaurant at 201 W. State Street. Dickerson said she believes the area is great for foot and vehicle traffic.
“It’s a great, nice spot for downtown,” she said. “When you come across the bridge, you’re just right here in the public eye of everybody that works in the downtown community.”
Rockford’s 13th Ward Alderman Elect Tamir Bell attended the ribbon-cutting event, saying, “I’m super excited because another business wants to do business here … and I’m just so excited to have a new business in the 13th Ward.”
“I have a great following, lots of great customers and then many more new ones to come,” Dickerson said.
The Sandwich Spot is open Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
