Abilene’s first female interim city manager to be sworn in Thursday

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The first woman to serve as Interim Abilene City Manager is set to be appointed on Thursday.

In late 2024, the current City Manager, Robert Hanna, announced his plans to retire after serving in the position for 10 years. As he steps down, Mindy Patterson, the city’s current Deputy City Manager, will take over his responsibilities, effective March 28, 2025.

However, the city council is still interviewing candidates for the permanent city manager position. Patterson is not in the running, as she did not apply for the job.
