ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A teenager was arrested during a traffic stop Saturday after police said a loaded handgun was found in his car.
According to the Rockford Police Department, officers with the Specialized Community Oriented Police Enforcement (SCOPE) stopped a vehicle in the area of Rockton Avenue and Yonge Street around 10:40 p.m. and found the weapon.
The 17-year-old male was arrested and faces two counts of Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon without a valid Firearm Owners Identification.
