Search underway for woman missing for nearly 3 weeks

CHICAGO — Police in Chicago are seeking help from the public in the search for a woman who has been missing for nearly three weeks.

Officers said a search is underway for 28-year-old Destini Thompson, who has been missing since Saturday, Feb. 15, and has not been contacted since.

According to police, the missing woman is known to frequent areas in the 6600 block of South Kimbark Avenue in Woodlawn on the city’s South Side.

Thompson, who stands 5-foot-4 and weighs around 160 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes.

In a photo provided by Chicago police, Thompson is seen with a nostril piercing, though it is unclear if she had any face jewelry on at the time of her disappearance.

Officers said the missing woman was last seen wearing a black jacket with Jordan shoes that were orange, black and white.

Details about the missing woman’s disappearance were shared by police in a news release on Wednesday afternoon.
