Police identify woman found dead in East Columbia neighborhood shooting

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Police have named the woman who was found dead in the East Columbia neighborhood following a shooting on Tuesday, March 4.

Shaud’e Leigh Hutchison, 31, was discovered in the area of NE Gertz Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. when officers responded to reports of shots fired in the early afternoon.

A medical examiner determined her cause of death was homicide by gunshot wound, officials said.

On Wednesday, authorities announced the arrest of 42-year-old Aaron Rene Garza, who now faces charges of second-degree murder, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
