This Earth Day, the Baxter County Conservation District (BCCD) is celebrating more than just the color green. Submissions are now being accepted for the 2025 Earth Day Coloring Contest for second and fifth graders.
Separate contests will be held for second and fifth graders at Mountain Home, Cotter, and Norfork schools.
Second-grade participants must use an official coloring sheet, available from the BCCD, and may use paint, colored pencils, markers, or crayons. Fifth graders should create an original poster illustrating this year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet.” Posters may be any size, and students may use flat or two-dimensional media, including paint, colored pencils, markers, charcoal, or crayons.
Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in both grade categories. Additionally, all entries will be considered for a $50 Best Overall award.
Entries must be submitted to the student’s teacher by April 4. The BCCD will collect submissions from schools on April 9, and cash awards will be presented to winners on April 17.
All submissions will be retained by the BCCD. By entering the contest, participants grant permission for their artwork and photos to be used on the BCCD website, newsletter, social media, and local newspapers.
