Morgan City 22-year-old killed in St. Charles Parish ATV crash

DES ALLEMANDS, La. (WGNO) — A Morgan City man is dead following an ATV crash that happened in St. Charles Parish on Sunday evening, March 2.

According to the Louisiana State Police, troopers with Troop B began investigating the crash, which happened on LA 631 near St. Gertrude Lane, shortly before 6 p.m.

The initial investigation reportedly shows that 28-year-old Tammy Flowers, of Morgan City, was driving a 2008 Can-Am Outlander ATV, heading east on LA 631, with 22-year-old Bret Flowers as a passenger.

For unknown reasons, the driver of the ATV allegedly tried to overtake another vehicle, but crossed the roadway, traveled off of the road and crashed into the left front side of an unoccupied Jeep Cherokee that was parked on the grassy shoulder.

Tammy Flowers suffered mild to moderate injuries, while Bret was severely injured. They were both brought to a local hospital. The hospital alerted LSP troopers of Bret Flowers’ death on Wednesday, March 5.

Routine toxicology samples were taken from Tammy Flowers as part of the ongoing investigation.
