Authorities investigate late-night shooting on Roscommon Drive

ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) – Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred late Monday night, leaving one person wounded, according to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 10 p.m. on March 3, patrol deputies were in the area of Kelley Land off North Bolton Avenue when they heard multiple gunshots, the sheriff’s office said in a statement. While responding, a deputy was flagged down and informed of a gunshot victim in the 1700 block of Roscommon Drive.

Deputies arrived at the scene and located one person suffering from gunshot wounds. They provided medical aid until Acadian Ambulance arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital.

Sheriff’s detectives and the Crime Scene Unit launched an investigation and have determined that at least two suspects may have been involved in the shooting.
