According to court documents filed earlier this month in Marion County, Trevon Alvis has officially been charged with:
On the evening of Dec. 19, 2024, officers with IMPD’s southwest district responded to the 8600 block of Camby Road on a report of a shooting. Officials said that when officers arrived, they located a man who had been shot. The man, unidentified by police, was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
Detectives with IMPD’s aggravated assault unit responded to the scene to begin an investigation. The release said that several pieces of evidence were recovered at the scene. After learning that the shooting occurred during an attempted robbery, detectives were able to identify Alvis as the alleged shooter.
On Tuesday, detectives located Alvis in the 3100 block of N Brouse Avenue with the help of a tip and public safety cameras. As IMPD SWAT officers attempted to take him into custody, the release said that Alvis reportedly fled on foot. Alvis was “quickly apprehended a few blocks away.”
According to court documents, the initial hearing for Alvis is scheduled for Thursday morning in Marion County Court.
