Docs: Teen arrested after armed robbery at gas station on near northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS — More information has been released about the Indianapolis teen who was arrested after a reported armed robbery led to a shooting on the near northwest side late last month.

According to court documents recently filed in Marion County, 17-year-old Cincere Hall has been charged with:

  • One count of armed robbery, a Level 3 felony
  • One count of aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony
  • One count of dangerous possession of a firearm, a Level 5 felony

This comes after Hall was previously adjudicated for a misdemeanor count of dangerous possession of a firearm, according to court documents.

According to previous reports, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a shooting in the late evening of June 25 to a home in the 500 block of Eugene Street. When officers arrived, they found a man who reportedly had a gunshot wound to his face in front of the home.

The court documents state that the crime scene was located nearby, in the 500 block of West 29th Street. Officials said rounds and casings were reportedly found at the scene.

In an interview with the man at the hospital, the documents said that a teen, later identified as Hall, was at the gas station when the man was there. The two were walking down W 29th Street when Hall reportedly put a pistol to his back.

The man reportedly asked the teen what he was doing, to which Hall responded: “You think I’m playing with you?” The document said that Hall began to go through the man’s pockets. After stating that he didn’t have anything, the man started running, which reportedly caused Hall to shoot at him around three or four times.

Officers with IMPD identified the teen as Hall after viewing security footage at the gas station. Hall was located by officials with the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force on July 1 at a home on Hillside Avenue.

During the arrest, the suspected gun that was used in the robbery was reportedly found inside a vehicle located at the home, the documents said.

According to court documents, Hall’s pretrial conference is scheduled for July 30 in Marion County.
