According to Philadelphia Police, officers responded to the DeRetis Playground at 5600 Grays Avenue just before 9 p.m. Monday. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police identified the victim on Tuesday afternoon as Anthony Jerome Sharpe Jr. of Smyrna, Delaware. Sharpe was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
As of Tuesday evening, the motive remains unknown, and police have not made any arrests.

As with all homicides in the City of Philadelphia, a $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
