One person is dead following weekend crash in Daviess County

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — One person has died following an accident near the Daviess and McLean county line on Sunday.

As previously reported, James and Gregory Kaelin were traveling southbound on Highway 431 when they left the roadway and struck a tree. Authorities say James, the driver, was trapped inside the vehicle due to the severity of the damage.

Once he was freed, James was airlifted to a Louisville hospital, and Gregory was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

According to a release from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, James had passed away on Monday as a result of his injuries from the crash.

The crash is still under investigation.
