The protestors took aim at President Donald Trump and the world’s richest man, Elon Musk. In a flurry of signs, protestors criticized Trump’s handling of the war in Ukraine and his relationship with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
Many signs also likened the Trump administration’s direction to fascism while others sounded the alarm on Musk’s DOGE going after critical federal programs like Medicare and Social Security benefits.
“Power to the people, not power to the privileged,” one sign read.
“Democracy not monarchy!” declared another.
The Indianapolis protest is part of a nationwide movement called “50501” — 50 states, 50 protests, one movement. Thousands of Americans have joined the movement since Trump’s inauguration with protests forming outside the Indiana Statehouse on several occasions over the last month.
