FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – An early morning shooting on the campus of Fresno State sent two people to the hospital, Fresno police say.

Just after midnight Saturday, police were called to a parking lot behind the Maya Cinemas for a report of a victim of a shooting.

They say they arrived to find a man in his 20’s suffering from several gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was taken to an area hospital where he is listed in serious condition.

Shortly after arriving to the call, officers say they learned of a second male victim who had self-transported to a different local hospital.  He is listed in stable condition and is being treated for wounds he received to his lower extremities.

Officers say the shootings appear to be a result of a dispute at a party in an apartment complex in the same parking lot.  They believe the incident was isolated and only involved the two men.

Investigators combed the parking lot for evidence and tried to locate as many witnesses as they could to determine what led up to the shooting.

Anyone with information on this case, or who may have surveillance video of the incident, is asked to contact the Fresno Police Department at 559-621-7000 or the Fresno State Police Department at 559-278-8400.
