Jerry Johnson of Roachdale was charged Friday in Putnam County Court with two counts of child molestation, one count of child porn possession and one count of neglect of a dependent.
The investigation into Johnson began in late January after a woman who knew him reported that he had been touching her children in an inappropriate manner. Detectives soon interviewed three juveniles — all under the age of 14.
Court documents filed against Johnson detail the victims’ many allegations, which include being showed porn videos, being forced to watch sexual acts in person and being forced to touch Johnson’s genitals.
Given the plethora of allegations, police applied for and were granted a search warrant on Johnson’s phone. Data seized from the phone revealed child pornography files.
Johnson was later given a polygraph, or lie detector, test by police in which he was asked about specific sex act allegations made by one of the victims. The examiner reportedly concluded that Johnson was being deceptive when he denied the allegations.
A warrant was granted for Johnson’s arrest on Friday in Putnam County.
