The Professional Pickleball Association will start the first season of the PPA Tour Challenger Series at the Stacks Pickleball sports complex. The series will feature amateur and rising professional pickleball players looking to make their mark.
“We have been excited to create more grassroots opportunities for amateur players as well as a structured pathway to the Carvana PPA Tour for aspiring professionals for a long time and we have done just that with the Challenger Series Powered by JOOLA,” CEO of Carvana PPA Tour Connor Pardoe said.
According to a news release, the tournament is set to bring in $800,000 for the local economy. Stacks Pickleball is Louisiana’s first indoor, climate-controlled pickleball facility. Stacks includes 12 indoor courts and is located on the campus of Celtic Studios.
“Visit Baton Rouge is excited to partner with Stacks Pickleball and welcome the PPA Challenger Series to our community,” Visit Baton Rouge Director of Sports Development Jason Suitt said.
The Baton Rouge PPA Challenger tournament will be from Friday, April 4, to Sunday, April 6.
Tickets cost $15 and are powered by TIXR. All registered players get a grounds pass. The new Tennis Channel App will stream Championship Court matches live.
