Bakersfield R-IV School District Counselor Trudy Summers says the proceeds will go to assist the Frazier family after they were injured in the March 14 tornado.
Listen:
The student council already had the idea for the pickleball tournament months ago, but Summers says they decided to add a layer to it following last month’s storm.
Listen:
The tournament starts at noon in the Jerry Taylor Gymnasium on the high school campus. The cost is $20 per two-person team. A cash prize will be given to the winners.
Summers says the tournament is a way to support a local family in need while playing a game that some may be learning for the first time.
