New Orleans Mardi Gras parade schedule for this weekend

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — More New Orleans Mardi Gras parades are scheduled to roll this weekend as Fat Tuesday nears.

Some iconic parades include the Krewe of Endymion, Krewe of Bacchus and Krewe of Toth. Try to catch beads from LSU stars Shaquille O’Neal and Olivia Dunne. Both are set to reign over two Big Easy parades.

Here’s what to know about parade start times and routes. The routes are courtesy of the Mardi Gras New Orleans website.

Friday, Feb. 28

In the French Quarter, at 11:30 a.m., the Krewe of Bosom Buddies:

  • Pre-parade ceremonies start at 11:15 a.m. at the starting point of St. Louis and Bourbon streets.
  • Travels on Bourbon Street to St. Ann Street, then turns right.
  • It continues down St. Ann for a block, then turns right onto Royal Street.
  • The parade continues down Royal, then turns right onto Iberville Street.
  • From Iberville it turns right again, back on Bourbon.
  • Parade disbands on the corner of Bourbon and Conti streets.

In Uptown, at 5:30 p.m., the Krewe of Hermes. At 6:30 p.m., the Krewe d’Etat, followed by the Krewe of Morpheus:

  • The parades will start at the intersection of Magazine Street and Jefferson Avenue.
  • They will head east on Magazine until Napoleon Avenue, where they’ll turn north (left).
  • The parades will stay on Napoleon until St. Charles Avenue, where they’ll turn east (right).
  • The krewes will then follow St. Charles all the way to Harmony Circle, around the circle and back on St. Charles northward to Canal Street.
  • The Krewe of Hermes will turn left on Canal and proceed down Canal St. until it reaches Baronne Street, where it will take another left and end.
  • The Krewe d’Etat heads right on Canal until reaching Chartres St. where the parade ends.
  • The Krewe of Morpheus will turn right and follow Canal to Tchoupitoulas Street.
  • It will then proceed to the intersection of Tchoupitoulas and Poydras where the parade will end.

Saturday, March 1

In Uptown, at 11 a.m., the Krewe of Iris:

  • The parade will start at the intersection of Napoleon Avenue and S. Saratoga Street in New Orleans.
  • The parade will proceed south until St. Charles Avenue, where the krewe will turn east (left).
  • It will then follow St. Charles all the way to Harmony Circle, around the circle and back on St. Charles northward to Canal Street.
  • At Canal, the parade will turn east (right)
  • The krewe will follow Canal to Tchoupitoulas Street, where the parade will turn south (right.)
  • The parade will follow Tchoupitoulas to the intersection with Poydras Street, where the parade will end.

Also in Uptown, at 12 p.m., the Krewe of Tucks:

  • The parade will start at the intersection of Napoleon Avenue and Tchoupitoulas Street in New Orleans.
  • The parade will proceed north until St. Charles Street, where the krewe will turn east (right).
  • The Krewe of Tucks will follow St. Charles all the way to Harmony Circle, around the circle and back on St. Charles northward to Canal Street.
  • At Canal, the parade will turn east (right) and proceed to Tchoupitoulas, then turn south (right).
  • The parade continues on Tchoupitoulas to Poydras Street where the parade ends.

In Mid-City, at 4 p.m., the Krewe of Endymion:

  • The parade starts at the intersection of City Park Avenue and Orleans Avenue.
  • From there it travels southeast down Orleans Avenue to the intersection with N. Carrollton Avenue.
  • It takes a right onto Carrollton and continues until it intersects with Canal Street.
  • The Krewe then takes a left and travels down Canal Street through Mid City until they reach St. Charles Avenue.
  • The parade turns right onto St. Charles Avenue and continues to Harmony Circle.
  • The parade goes around Harmony Circle until it reaches Howard Avenue where it makes a left.
  • They proceed northwest on Howard Avenue until it intersects with Loyola Avenue.
  • At Loyola Avenue, the parade turns right until it reaches Girod Street where it makes a left.
  • The parade continues west on Girod Street until reaching the Superdome where it ends.

Sunday, March 2

In Uptown, at 11 a.m., the Krewe of Okeanos followed by the Krewe of Mid-City:

  • The parades will start at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Magazine Street.
  • They will proceed east along Magazine until Napoleon Avenue, where the krewes will turn north (left).
  • The krewes will follow Napoleon north until St. Charles Avenue, where the parades will turn east (right).
  • They will follow St. Charles all the way to Harmony Circle, around the circle and back on St. Charles northward to Canal Street.
  • At Canal, the parades turn southeast (right).
  • The Krewe of Mid-City will end at the intersection of Canal and Camp streets.
  • At the intersection of Canal and Tchoupitoulas Street, the Krewe of Okeanos will turn south (right) on Tchoupitoulas.
  • The parade continues on Tchoupitoulas and ends at Poydras St.

Also in Uptown, at noon, the Krewe of Thoth:

  • The parade will start at the intersection of State Street and Tchoupitoulas Street.
  • The parade will head northwestward to Henry Clay Avenue, where the krewe will turn northeast (right).
  • At Magazine Street, the krewe will east and follow Magazine until Napoleon Avenue, where the parade will turn north (left.)
  • The krewe will follow Napoleon north until St. Charles Avenue, where it will turn east (right.)
  • The krewe will follow St. Charles all the way to Harmony Circle, around the circle and back on St. Charles northward to Canal Street.
  • At Canal, the parade will turn southeast (right) and proceed to the intersection of Canal and Tchoupitoulas streets, the parade will then turn south (right) on Tchoupitoulas.
  • The krewe continues on Tchoupitoulas Street and ends when it reaches Poydras Street.

And finally, still in Uptown, at 5:15 p.m., the Krewe of Bacchus:

  • The parade will start at the intersection of Napoleon Avenue and Tchoupitoulas Street.
  • The parade will head along Napoleon Avenue north until St. Charles Avenue, where it will turn east (right).
  • The krewe will follow St. Charles all the way to Harmony Circle, then around the circle and back on St. Charles northward to Canal Street.
  • At Canal, the parade turns right, heading southeast.
  • At the intersection of Canal and Tchoupitoulas streets, the parade will turn south (right) down Tchoupitoulas.
  • The krewe will proceed south to the intersection of Tchoupitoulas and Julia streets, where the parade will turn left and proceed until it reaches Convention Center Boulevard.
  • At Convention Center Boulevard the parade will and turn right and proceed to the Convention Center at Henderson Street.
