17-year-old arrested on Murder charge in Coleman County after shooting

COLEMAN, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A 17-year-old has been arrested on a murder charge in connection to a shooting in Coleman County Tuesday Night.

Jace Landyn Scott was booked into the Coleman County Jail for Murder in connection to the death of a 26-year-old man who was shot and killed at a home on the 400 block of E 10th Street just after 9:00 p.m.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots in the area and found the victim, who has not been publicly identified, in the front yard of the home, according to a press release from the Coleman Police Department.

Despite immediate life-saving attempts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in a shooting.

The Texas Rangers are now leading the investigation, with assistance from local agencies in Coleman County.

Scott remains held jail on a $300,000 bond.
