Report: Coleman woman planned to mail ex-husband fentanyl-laced chocolates disguised as gift from travel agency

COLEMAN COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A Coleman County woman accused of planning to mail her ex-husband fentanyl-laced chocolates disguised as a gift from a travel agency has been arrested.

Pamela Jean Stanley, 63, was indicted criminal solicitation with intent to commit murder, criminal attempt to commit murder, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and taken into custody last week.

A press release from the Parker County Sheriff’s Office explains that an acquaintance recorded Stanley as she described her plan for murder, saying she, “was seeking to purchase powdered fentanyl, and “inject” it in a high-end box of chocolates and further planned to mail it to her ex-husband making it appear to have been from a travel agency as a congratulatory gift for his recent engagement along with a “honeymoon” incentive offer.”

Undercover agents then arranged a drug deal with Stanley, where she drove from Coleman to Parker County to buy what she believed was fentanyl from the agents in the parking lot of a local motel, according to the press release.

She was immediately arrested for the attempted purchase and also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Later, Stanley was indicted on the charges related to the attempted murder and now remains held in jail on bonds totaling $450,000.
