TAMUT was first on the board, Redwater, TX native, Brooke Usrey homered to left field, bringing home Madison Dingman in the process, giving the Eagles momentum.
But LSU-A answered big in the top of the second, tacking on five runs against TAMUT. After a scoreless third inning the Generals bats were hot once again, adding four runs to their lead.
The TAMUT defense came up big in the final three innings to hold the Generals at nine.
In the bottom of the seventh the Eagles gave it one last shot to get themselves back in the game. Madison Dingman hit a triple with two outs to put her in scoring position, and a deep ball to right from Macy Cutsinger brought her home to make it 9-3, but it was ultimately not enough for TAMUT.
In the second matchup of the day, TAMUT lost to the Generals 3-1 in extra innings.
The Eagles will next play Saturday, March 1 at Jarvis Christian.
