Lafayette police bust 2 with 7 pounds of meth

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A traffic stop by Lafayette police officers uncovered roughly seven pounds of methamphetamine.

The Lafayette Police Department arrested Kenneth Preshon, 50, and Shastiney Skaggs, 26, on preliminary charges of dealing methamphetamine. Preshon also faces a potential charge of dealing cocaine after one ounce of the drug was found during the traffic stop.

According to police, the traffic stop occurred on Feb. 21. The stop was part of a coordinated investigation between the LPD, the Howard County Violent Crimes Task Force and the Tippecanoe County Drug Task Force.

In addition to seven pounds of meth and one count of cocaine, police also reported discovering $1,600 in cash.
