CHICAGO (WGN) — The coaching staff has been assembled. Now, it’s time to turn to the NFL Draft and gauge the prospects that could hear their names called by the Chicago Bears this April, and it all begins with the NFL Scouting Combine this Thursday.
The Bears have eight picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, including five picks in the first five rounds and four inside the top 75. Here are where they sit:

The most glaring needs for Chicago to address are in the trenches.
Though not completely the offensive line’s fault, Caleb Williams was still the most sacked quarterback in football last year (68) and if the Bears want to take the next step forward in 2025, they will need to significantly improve along the o-line.
On the opposite side of the trenches, Montez Sweat is Chicago’s top pass rush option, but Chicago saw him digress in 2024 from his 12.5-sack performance a season prior. Having a second quality pass rusher on the opposite end of the defensive line would go a long way toward getting Sweat more one-on-one reps and the opportunity to return to the level of play that helped him make the Pro Bowl in 2023.
After the offensive and defensive line, the Bears could use impact players to improve their depth at running back, tight end and safety. With Keenan Allen likely out the door, Chicago may also look at adding a slot receiver in the draft.
Here is the schedule for the NFL Scouting Combine this week and what to expect each day in Indianapolis.
Tuesday, Feb. 25: Select NFL head coaches and general managers will be available to the media from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CT.
Wednesday, Feb. 26: Defensive linemen and linebackers will meet with the media from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. CT. Select NFL head coaches and general managers will again be available to the media, this time from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. CT.
Thursday, Feb. 27: Defensive backs and tight ends will meet with the media from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. CT. Drills for defensive linemen and linebackers will begin at 2 p.m. CT.
Friday, Feb. 28: Quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers will meet with the media from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. CT. Drills for defensive backs and tight ends will begin at 2 p.m. CT.
Saturday, March 1: Offensive linemen will meet with the media from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. CT. Drills for quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers will begin at noon CT.
Sunday, March 2: Drills for offensive linemen will begin at noon CT.
