WEST MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On February 19, 2025, officials from the Ouachita Parish Fire Department responded to a report of a storage container fire. While attempting to extinguish the fire, officials learned that the container was occupied by a 40-year-old man for temporary shelter.
First responders attempted to save the victim, but he did not survive. According to the Louisiana State Fire Marshal, there were no smoke detectors in the container.
