“I enjoyed, it is local. It is family orientated, safe it is fun, and my son of course loves it, and I also have a son that attends Higgins High School, so he’s in the band. It’s exciting,” said Modesty Joshua.
The krewe’s parade features 250 riders with 20 unique floats, each with a musical theme.
“Some of the rock ‘n’ roll stars and soul stars will be on the float, and their heads will be the actual float,” said Cory Hebert.
Everyone on the parade route was shouting and waving their hands, looking to get their hands on some good throws. Especially the krewe’s signature throw, the musical pillow.
“A lot of folks like to sit at home and lay on a pillow, listening to music. So, I say I’m going to do something designed so we have the music on, just so they can lay on them and just relax and just listen to music at the same time,” said Krewe of Music Captain Henry Smith.
However, some on the route were okay with whatever they ended up with as long as they had a good time.
” I got a cup, and I got a lot of mystery candy,” said a paradegoer.
