The two programs had a plethora of playoff history. The 2025 Division I Championship marked the fifth time the Wolves and Bears battled with a state title on the line, and St. Paul’s came prepared for the occasion.
The Wolves scored the first goal in the 47th minute. Catholic High would respond 20 minutes later and tie the game 1-1, but St. Paul’s would score to go-ahead goal at the 71st minute. Bryce Bordes’ pass to Holger Padilla set up to eventual championship-winning score.
St. Paul’s beat Catholic High 2-1 to claim its 12th championship, and Wolves head coach Sean Moser credited his team’s dedication en route to the state title.
“Hard working so just watching them celebrate is kind of special because it’s a different group every year. This group was blessed. we got healthy. They’re hard working. We would have a conditioning practice for an hour and a half,” Moser said.
