Recipes for National Canned Food Month

February is National Canned Food Month!

“We love canned foods. They’re a great budget-friendly option. They can pack in nutrients, things on the go and they’re an awesome thing to keep in your pantry,” said Claire Rudden, Manager of Nutrition and Wellness Initiatives from Zallie Family Markets.

When shopping for canned goods, be sure to find low or no sodium and no added
sugar options.

“You can also always drain and rinse your canned goods to reduce sodium up to 40%,” said Claire.

Claire’s recipes included sweet potato and black bean chili, Tuscan tuna and white bean avocado salad, Mediterranean grilled crostini snacks and chickpea pumpkin dip.
