TYLER, Texas (WNTZ) – Despite standout performances from Kylei Leblanc and McKayla Price, the Louisiana Christian University women’s basketball team fell to Texas College 72-69 in overtime on Tuesday. The Steers held Princis Goff to a career-low four points, securing their second overtime victory over the Wildcats in three days.

Standout Performances

Leblanc led the Wildcats with a season-high 21 points, shooting 10-of-16 (62.5%) while adding nine rebounds, five steals, and two blocks. Price contributed 20 points, going 7-for-12 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.

DaKayla Howard logged a campaign-high four field goals and matched her career-best with 44 minutes on the court, finishing with 11 points. Jakiya Thompson added seven points, including one of the Wildcats’ two three-pointers.

Though Goff was limited offensively, she led the game with four assists and increased her career scoring total to 1,111 points.

Looking Ahead

Louisiana Christian now turns its focus to the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament. The Wildcats will enter as either the No. 6, No. 7, or No. 8 seed, with first-round play beginning Thursday.
