The state of Kentucky provides a special database that is easy to use.
Parents and guardians who are moving to a new neighborhood can use the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry website to search within a 5-mile radius of a ZIP code.
According to Kentucky State Police, it “provides sex offender registration information to the public to promote public safety and awareness by alerting possible victims of potential danger, not to punish or embarrass offenders.”
The Department of Justice said individuals legally required to join the registry must register and update their information or face statutory penalties
