1 man dead, 1 in critical condition after being shot in Rogers Park late Sunday night, Chicago police say

CHICAGO — One man was killed and another was in critical condition after being shot in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the city’s North Side late Sunday night, according to Chicago police.

A 31-year-old man and an unidentified male victim were found outside with multiple gunshot wounds at around 9:45 p.m. in the 7500 block of North Damen Avenue, police say. The unidentified male victim was shot in the neck and head and was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The 31-year-old man was shot once in the chest and once in each leg, according to police, and was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Police say a witness told officers they saw four males flee the scene on foot.

Nobody is in custody, and Area Three detectives are investigating.
