Woman, 35, found with fatal gunshot wound during well-being check by Chicago police in Grand Crossing neighborhood
CHICAGO — A 35-year-old woman was found with a fatal gunshot wound during a well-being check by Chicago police early Sunday morning in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the city’s South Side.
According to police, officers responded to a well-being check call at about 6 a.m. in the 7600 block of South Ingleside Avenue and found the woman unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the arm. She was taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police say a gun was found at the scene and a person of interest was taken into custody.
