The Krewe of Centaur holds its float-loading party every year. In previous years, this was the time Krewe members got together and loaded the floats ahead of the parade. However, the event has grown larger over the years, with hundreds attending. Now, Centaur has opened the event to the public.
The evening also allows those in attendance to hunt for those elusive specialty beads. Fun fact, only the king and queen sign the back of their special beads.
This year they had food trucks, music, an indoor warm area, and a bead store.
Jennifer Green is a Krewe member, and she explained why she enjoys it, “The things we do give back to the public, it’s a great way to meet people, a great way to give back to the community, and it’s fun.”
