1 killed in two-car crash in downtown Indy

INDIANAPOLIS – An investigation is underway after a person was killed in a two-car crash in downtown Indianapolis Saturday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just before 3:30 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of East McCarty Street & Madison Avenue on the report of a personal injury accident.

Our crew at the scene could see a car and truck damaged from the crash. Investigators say at least one person died and medics took two other people to a nearby hospital with injuries.

Police had to close the ramp from I-70 to McCarty Street and Madison Avenue while they investigated.

It’s still not known what caused the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
