Rockford bartenders compete for best cocktail in Stateline Shake-Off contest

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford bartenders were challenged to use their creativity and skills to make the city’s best cocktail.

The inaugural Stateline Shake-Off was hosted at Union, 112 N 2nd Street.

Bartending teams created signature drinks that were voted on by attendees.

Some of the options included a martini with white grapes and espresso, and a tequila-based drink with strawberry, lime juice, and peach bitters.

Part of the proceeds from ticket sales were donated to Winnebago County CASA, the organization that supports children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

Betsy Baker, of Baker Street Burgers, said, “Obviously we like being part of this because it’s just fun to be a part of anything that’s community-driven, but CASA is incredibly important to everyone’s lives, right? It’s just great to be a part of that.”

There were 12 teams in total who participated.

Winners:
1st Place: Crave Kitchen & Cocktails
2nd Place: Mau-Nah-Tee-See Country Club
3rd Place: The Music Box
