It was only fit to have some very special pups who will be in the parade this year.
Reigning as king is his majesty 32 King Petey Benson, owned by Saints and Pelicans owner Gayle Benson.
Her majesty 32 is Queen Ruthie Sable, owned by Dr. Craig and Barb Sable.
“I’m just so excited that he’s part of this. We can represent all of the shelters in New Orleans, the SPCA and the other 12 that we have in the city and the New Orleans Police Department because they protect and they have their dogs that protect. So it’s just a great thing. We are so excited to be here,” said Benson.
Serving as Grand Marshal this year is everyone’s favorite runaway pup Scrim. A statue of him will be pushed down the route by Scrim Recovery Team members due to his fear of crowds.
