The conference works to empower Hoosiers through leadership, empowerment, advancement, development, and service (L.E.A.D.S.).
The day-long event included a live, on-stage interview by FOX59’s Beairshelle Edmé with the mayor. The two discussed walking through Mayor Finkam’s leadership journey.
Attendees also got to hear from a panel of executives and leaders plus a keynote address from a local author and communications expert.
Meanwhile, local middle school girls spent the evening attending workshops to build their confidence and hone in on their talents.
While women and girls were the focal point on Thursday, Hoosier men were also invited to attend for insight on how to support the women and girls in their lives.
The mayor hopes to incorporate the event in the Fall with small workshops and plans to bring it back in the years to come.
