Rain this weekend: Warmer air will begin to work its way back into the ArkLaTex this weekend. The price of its return will be a chance of rain. The good news is that models are trending a bit slower showing that most of the rain will fall on late Saturday night into Sunday morning. Consequently, as of right now, we are looking mainly dry for the Krewe of Centaur parade on Saturday. Temperatures for the parade will begin in the upper 40s to lower 50s and will fall through the 40s.
How much rain? This weekend’s rain is looking rather light with the heaviest rain falling on the southern half of the area where amounts of around ¼” will be possible. The northern half of the area will see less than 1/10”. Severe and wintry weather will not be a concern.
10-Day Forecast: Your 10-day forecast shows that the warming trend that begins on Friday will accelerate during the weekend. Daytime highs will warm into the upper 50s to near 60 by Sunday. Highs next week will begin in the 70s and return to the 60s late in the week. Overnight lows will begin the period in the teens and low 20s on both Thursday and Friday mornings. They will warm into the 40s and 50s by the middle of next week. Our next and only chance of rain will arrive this weekend with most of any rain falling on Saturday night into Sunday.
