Bret Michaels, the frontman of the rock band Poison, and The All-American Rejects will co-headline the Miller Lite Carb Day Concert on May 23 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Carb Day gives attendees the chance to attend the show, see the final practice for the 109th Indianapolis 500 as well as see the Indy 500 Pit Stop Challenge.
“Miller Lite Carb Day is not just the official party to kick off race weekend, it’s really the kickoff event of the summer,” IMS President J. Douglas Boles said in the release. “The day has everything to make the perfect party: 33 drivers in the final practice before the ‘500,’ the Pit Stop Challenge, people watching and a fun and entertaining concert to put an exclamation point on the party. It really is a day like no other at the Racing Capital of the World. Many of our fans take the day off work and spend it at IMS, which is a tradition we can all celebrate.”
Michaels, a musical act who has headlined Carb Day in the past, is best known for Poison’s hit singles like “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and “Nothing But A Good Time.” Michaels is also known for his time on VH1’s “Rock of Love with Bret Michaels” and his stint on FOX’s “The Masked Singer.”
The All-American Rejects are a popular pop-punk band that came on the scene with their hit song “Swing Swing” in 2002. With the band’s 2005 album “Move Along,” the All-American Rejects took over rock radio with singles like “Dirty Little Secret,” “Move Along” and “It Ends Tonight.” The band’s 2008 hit song “Gives You Hell” reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100, cementing the band as one of the decade’s hitmakers.
