The robberies happened in February and March of 2022 at Igor’s Bar and Grill located in the 2100 block of St. Charles Avenue. Prosecutors say 54-year-old Deborah Cooper and a still unidentified accomplice used at least one firearm to rob bartenders at the business. In the February robbery, more than $1,200 were taken. In the robbery the following month, more than $7,000 were stolen.
Prosecutors say security camera footage from the area shows Cooper’s truck parked near the business. Also, they say a search warrant of her home turned up the stolen money, the clothing she wore during the robberies and the gun that was used.
Cooper was convicted of all charges at trial on Feb. 12. Because Cooper is a convicted felon and used a firearm to commit the robberies, she faces a minimum sentence of 14 years in prison and could get a life sentence. She will be sentenced on May 7.
