AT&T expands wireless network, boosts speeds in Central Pennsylvania

(WHTM) — AT&T is expanding its 5G network in Central Pennsylvania, giving residents, businesses, and visitors a big boost in their wireless connectivity.

AT&T announced they have added four new cell sites to enhance the area’s coverage and capacity. The new sites boost coverage in:

Adams County

  • Bonneauville around Baltimore Pike & California Road
  • Greenstone near Route 16
  • Gardners around Gardners Station Road and Old Carlisle Road

Perry County

  • Newport around Middle Ridge Road and Little Buffalo Road

“With FirstNet, we make public safety’s mission the priority,” said AT&T President David Kerr. “When agencies on FirstNet respond to incidents – from large events to weather emergencies to man-made disasters and more – we’re there to help coordinate their needs and deliver for the men and women our communities count on the most. These new sites help them and our other customers in the communities.”

AT&T says these enhancements also bring Band 14 spectrum to Central Pennsylvania. Band 14 is From 2019 to 2023, AT&T invested nearly $1.6 billion in wireless and wireline networks in Pennsylvania.
