The higher elevations will continue to see winter driving conditions along those higher routes. Snow levels are expected to drop a bit more Monday night into Tuesday all the way down to valley floors.
Another disturbance moves in tonight into Tuesday, bringing more widespread snow showers, especially in the mountains. By Tuesday afternoon, drier air starts creeping in, ending the precipitation from north to south. The biggest snow totals (10-20”) will be in the Cottonwoods and Bear River Range. 7-14″ will be possible for the rest of the northern mountains. The Wasatch Front could see anywhere from a dusting to an inch, early Tuesday morning.
After Tuesday, we will see a brief break in the weather before another storm moves in Wednesday afternoon. Looks like we will see a rain/snow mix for the valleys with this system switching over to snow Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with all snow expected once again for the mountains. Depending on snow levels and precipitation type duration, the valleys could see some accumulations, with accumulations likely in the mountains. As we approach the weekend, high pressure builds in, bringing drier and warmer conditions.
