According to the Marion County Coroner’s Office, 43-year-old Lamont Curtis was pronounced dead at IU Health Methodist Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 15.
Indianapolis Metropolitan police were dispatched around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, to a reported hit-and-run crash in the 6300 block of North Keystone Avenue.
Officers found a man, later identified as Curtis, lying in the road suffering from injuries consistent with trauma. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Curtis was riding a moped when another vehicle hit him and left the scene. At the time, police didn’t release information about a potential suspect or vehicle.
The coroner’s office said Curtis succumbed to his injuries three weeks later.
