“Power plant employees are the unsung heroes of the utility business because they work nights, weekends and holidays,” said Bobby Breedlove, Cleco’s chief operations officer. “Though their work is away from the public eye, it is the foundation of our business. And these employees play a critical role in keeping the power flowing for our customers and communities.”
Cleco employs nearly 300 power plant workers across Louisiana, staffing nine generation units at five facilities. Their work ensures the company’s power plants operate safely, reliably and efficiently for Cleco’s 295,000 customers.
“Our power plant employees do their jobs well. They demonstrated this yet again in January 2025 as unprecedented heavy snow and extreme cold temperatures came to central and south Louisiana,” Breedlove said. “Many of these team members worked long hours and stayed overnight at the plants to ensure that power production never faltered during this historic snow and ice event.”
Cleco expressed gratitude to its power plant teams not only for their storm response efforts but also for their ongoing commitment to reliable service every day.
